"Ty si hudba..., ži s tým!"
The young soprano Eva Katráková Bodorová comes from
Slovakia and is a graduate of the State Conservatory in Bratislava.
She is studying at the University of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She won the
1st. prize in many competitions, among others at the Slovak Conservatory
Competition. During her studies at the Conservatory she took part in the Imrich
Godin International Competition - Iuventus Canti in Vráble (2014),
where she became an absolute winner and also won the Prize for Best
Interpretation of the 21.st. century work. After this success she won
the Competition of conservatories in Bratislava. She was also
successful at the Hans Gabor Singing Competition in Vienna's
Belvedere and at the Neue Stimmen International Competition in
Berlin.
After completing her studies, she won an audition to obtain a two-year
scholarship in the opera studio of Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. She
made her debut in the role of Priestess in Verdi's Aida (directed
by Philipp Himmelmann, musical direction by Axel Kober and Aziz Shokhakimov)
alongside world-famous soloists Boris Staatsenko and Morenike Fadayomi. After
success on the boards of Deutsche Oper am Rhein in both Düsseldorf and
Duisburg, she also appeared as a Barbarina at Mozart's Figaro Wedding.
In the 2015/2016 season she sang the role of The First Nun in Sergei
Prokofiev's drama The Fire Angel. She subsequently performed as Echo
in the opera Ariadne auf Naxos, conducted by the internationally renowned
conductor Wen-Pin Chien. Another role in which the singer successfully
presented was Count Ceprano from the opera Rigoletto (G. Verdi). During
her two years in the opera studio Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the artist took
several singing courses. She soon introduced herself as Queen of the
Night at Mozart's The Magic Flute.
After completing her studies, the soprano took part in several
concert tours in Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary and the Czech
Republic. In Czech Pardubice she presented in Mozart's Requiem conducted
by Peter Feranec. In 2017 she performed concerts in Pesaro, Bergamo,
Bologna, Venice and G. Verdi's hometown - Le Roncole. In the season
2017/2018 she made her debut on the stage of the SND
Opera with Konstanze in the opera Abduction from the Serail (W. A.
Mozart) directed by Ján Ďurovčík and under the musical direction of the
conductor Peter Valentovič.
In 2018 she got to the finals of the Antonín
Dvořák International Competition in Karlovy Vary. She also performed
with great success in the role of Olympia in J. Offenbach's opera
Hoffman's Stories at the Slovak National Theater /
directed by Pavol Smolík, conductor Tomáš Brauner. The soprano has received an exclusive offer
to portray the main role in the world premiere of the Slovak opera by
Ľubica Čekovska Impresario Dotcom as part of the Bregenzer
Festspiele.
She became the Absolute winner of the Franz Lehár Competition in
Komárno in 2019 associated with participation in a gala concert in the
operetta theater in Budapest and also the Absolute Winner, 1st
place in the Erzsébet Házy International Singing Competition in Nové Zámky for
2019
She is the Absolute Winner of the prestigious SHARON RESCH AWARD
competition in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA, where she competed brilliantly in
the competition of 150 singers. A major career contribution in the 2020/2021
season was an alternation with the opera diva Edita Grúberová, as well as the
soprano's debut in the role of Queen Elizabeth in the opera by Roberto
Devereux (Gaetano Donizetti), at the State Theater in Košice. In
the 2021/22 season, the artist performed in several title roles such as the
character "Mary" in the Jazz-operetta by Imre Kálmán The
Duchess from Chicago conducted by Peter Valentovič. We cannot forget
the debut concert at MUPA, in Budapest, where Eva Katráková Bodorová
performed in the soprano part of Mahler's 8th symphony. In the
same season, a wonderful opportunity arose in the framework of cooperation with
the Budapest Opera / Erkel Színház, where Eva Katráková Bodorová had
also the opportunity to debut regarding the role of "Queen of the
Night". She had her debut again with the role of "Queen of the
Night" (W. A. Mozart) also gave the collaboration with the
Budapest orchestra, the artist absolvated the japanese tour, where
she had the chance to have her debut with the role of "Queen of the
Night" under the baton of maestro Kovács János.
In October 2022 she sung the role of Olympia from the
opera of 21.th century wrote by Ľubica Čekovská, Impresario
Dotcom. This season, at the same time in January 2022, through
continuous collaboration with maestro Peter Valentovič, she presented
herself at the New Year's Concert, there were presented pieces
written by Emmerich Kálmán, Franz Lehár, and Giuseppe Verdi. The artist had a
huge success in Landestheater Passau, Germany, where she also
debuted the role of Queen Elizabeth I. from the opera Roberto
Devereux (G. Donizetti).
She made her debut with this role in March in the 2022 season at
the Prague State Theater, where she won the prestigious "Libuška"
Critic's Award at the 2022 Musical Theater Festival.
In 2022 she won The price of Cultural Ministery in Slovakia for the
role of Queen Elizabeth l. by G.Donizetti and "Dosky" (Plates) Award
of Season and also the very special
price of the "Literary fund".
Her enormously growing career is also closely connected with the
cooperation of the amazing singing lead of the world-famous diva, Linda
Watson. In Season 2023, in February, she maked her debut as the Queen
of the Night in the opera The Magic Flute at the State
Theater in Košice. Also in March, she appeared in the title role of Maria
Stuarda in another belcanto work Maria Stuarda by Gaetano
Donizetti at the Vorarlberger Landestheater in Bregenz, Austria.
In august 2023 she sung the role of Queen of the Night in the National
Operahouse in Budapest. The completion of the 2023 season was the third
Tudor role of Anna Bolena in a row for her, in the opera Anna
Bolena written by Gaetano Donizetti.
The end of the 2023, for the artist were The 3 New Year's Eve
operetta concerts at the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava under the baton
of conductor Peter Valentovič.
In the season in january 2024 she sung the role of Olympia wrote
by Ľubica Čekovská, Impresario Dotcom in the National
Theater in Slovakia. In the same season, in May 2024, the artist
continuously will sing the role of Queen of the Night in The National
Theater in Brno.
